5 Potential Breakout Guys in 2017

Fantasy Football Fantasy Football Strategy

1- Jameis Winston– QB

I know this is kinda an obvious call.  But the Buccaneers made moves so that Winston can’t fail and should be up from a QB2 to a QB1 in his third year.  Both  Desean Jackson and OJ Howard are now in Tampa and should make the passing game more than Mike Evans.  Big plays to Evans and Jackson should give Jackson plenty of bonus points as well.  The only concern to me is how good is Dirk Koetter?  We will learn a lot about him and Winston in a few months.

2- Carlos Hyde– RB

I have said this before.  Watch out for Hyde this season to increase his production from previous years in San Fran.  Kyle Shanahan and Bobby Turner can make decent running backs into 1300 yard performers.  Hyde is no slouch either.  As long as Shanahan doesn’t see a gem down the roster and decides to not go with Hyde he should produce.  Maybe not as a RB1 but a solid RB2 who could be your steal.

3- Derrick Henry– RB

Henry lost a lot of chances as a rookie due to the outstanding season Demarco Murray had.  Murray will still be good but I think Henry will get many more chances to be an impact.  And we know now that good teams can have two solid scoring running backs week to week.  Plus, Murray stayed relatively healthy last season so by law of averages we can expect him to miss some time.  Not rooting for injuries but going based on track record.

4- Jamison Crowder– WR

Kirk Cousins situation in Washington is a mess but we know he can toss the ball around.  And I think its Crowder turn to put up big numbers.  He has produced in both of his seasons but now with Desean Jackson and Pierre Garcon gone Crowder will see a lot of time.  I know Terrell Pryor is now in DC but Crowder will be on the other side and will catch plenty of balls now as more than a slot guy.

5- Jesse James- TE

There are some options at tight end after the obvious top 6-7 guys.  I think James can do some damage as a long shot.  I like the three rookies also but lets go with a veteran who is in a really good pass offense.  And I am sure no one has James on their radar so he could be a 15-16th round steal.
