Rashad Jennings
One bad week is not enough to turn on Rashad Jennings. He has been a monster this season.
Rashad Jennings let a lot of fantasy owners down last week. After a huge game in week three, Jennings was only able to muster up a few fantasy points last weekend. Andre Williams actually took the bulk of the load in that game against the Redskins. This weekend the Giants will be taking on the Atlanta Falcons. Do not except Jennings to have such a light workload. He is still the number one back in New York. The team was resting him a bit in that game because of the short practice week that followed a game which Jennings took the ball 34 times. The Falcons are 28th against the rush, so Jennings is destined to have a bounce back game this weekend.
Kelvin Benjamin is definitely making a strong case for being named the Offensive Rookie of the Year. Through the first four weeks of the season he has already accumulated 329 receiving yards and three touchdowns. This weekend the Panthers are going to host the Chicago Bears. The Bears are ranked 20th against the pass. The main concern with their defense has been the secondary. There is nobody in the secondary that has the physical attributes needed to line up against the 6’5” rookie wide receiver. Benjamin should be able to find the end zone once again this weekend.
Matt Asiata
Matt Asiata has been playing very well in place of Adrian Peterson. Do not expect this to chance this weekend against the Packers. The Vikings are going to be forced to run it down this team’s throat. It would not be surprising to see Asiata take 30 carries in this game. The Packers are the worst team in the NFL against the rush and the Vikings are having problems with the health of their quarterbacks.
Sit ‘Em
The Patriots have some problems this season. Until those get figured out, very few of their players are worth starting in fantasy football.
At this point in the season, anyone other than Edelman and Gronkowski who is wearing a Patriots’ uniform probably should not be started in fantasy football. However, this is one week where their running backs, especially Shane Vereen, should not be in the lineup. The Patriots are facing the undefeated Cincinnati Bengals. Normally after a beating like the one the Chiefs gave the Pats, you would think the Patriots were destined for a comeback. Against any other team this may be true, but the Bengals are playing championship caliber football right now. This is one risk that is not worth taking.
Pierre Garcon is going to be lining up against Richard Sherman and the rest of the Legion of Boom. After the week Kirk Cousins just had this just does not look good at all. Since we do not known if we are going to see the Cousin from last weekend or two weekends ago, Garcon just cannot be trusted in this game.
Chris Ivory has been a pretty strong flex play thus far in the season. Even in a time sharing situation with Chris Johnson, Ivory is showing the Jets that he can be the team’s workhorse back. Ivory has compiled 273 yards and two touchdowns on the ground so far. Do not expect those numbers to increase much this weekend. The Jets are facing the Chargers and their ninth ranked rushing defense. With the troubles the Jets are having in the pacing game, the Chargers are definitely going to be focused on stopping the run.
