Start ‘Em/ Sit ‘Em for Week Four

Fantasy Football Start 'em Sit 'em

Start ‘Em

Just reminding all Le'Veon Bell owners how excited they should be about this weekend.

Just reminding all Le’Veon Bell owners how excited they should be about this weekend.

Le’Veon Bell

It is not like you were considering starting him, but Le’Bell deserves special mention here. Typically, Start ‘Em/ Sit ‘Em lists never talk about studs because they should always be in the starting lineup. However, this matchup is just too good not to talk about. The Steelers are facing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this weekend. Bell should have a monstrous game. Not only has he been one of the absolute best running backs to own, but he is facing a defense that got hit up for over 50 points last week. This is the type of week every owner dreams off for their best players.

 Ahmad Bradshaw

Ahmad Bradshaw is off to a very strong start. Fantasy owners predicted him as a possible sleeper candidate. The prediction is coming true. Over the past two games, Bradshaw has scored three receiving touchdowns. He may be splitting the load with Trent Richardson, but Bradshaw definitely has more value at this point. He is the back the Colts turn to in passing situations. Andrew Luck is currently leading all players in fantasy a point which definitely boosts Bradshaw’s value. This week the Colts are facing the Tennessee Titans. The Titans have given up the 12th most fantasy points to running backs this season. With his added value in the passing game, Bradshaw is a great choice in the flex position this week.

Easy matchup for a great quarterback. It is too bad his bad season destroyed his fantasy football reputation. He would be bringing so many more wins to owners.

 Philip Rivers

It is a shame fantasy owners still seem to be down on Philip Rivers. He had such a great season in 2013 and has performed very well so far this season. Unfortunately, Rivers never gets respect from the fantasy football community. Owners still want to bench him. Not only is it time to start considering Rivers a week in and week out starter; this is one week where owners do not want him on their bench. The Chargers are hosting the Jaguars. Starting this veteran quarterback should be an easy decision.

 Sit ‘Em

 Ryan Tannehill

Ryan Tannehill was expected to be this season’s major breakout candidate at the quarterback position. So far that has not happened. In fact, he has been so underwhelming this year the Dolphins are considering benching him. This is such an important factor when deciding whether or not to trust him this week. Tannehill was mostly drafted by teams who did not have a strong starting quarterback. The intention was to swap the two in and out based on matchup. This week the Miami Dolphins will play the Oakland Raiders. On paper, this is a favorable matchup for Tannehill. However, since he may or may not start, this is just one situation to avoid despite how appealing it may be.

Things are not looking up for one of the most talked about off-season sleepers.

San Francisco 49ers Team Defense

The 49ers defense has been rattled by injuries this season. They are no longer a top five fantasy defense. Despite this, they still are a starting fantasy defense. They are just not longer matchup proof. This week they face the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles have so much firepower on offense. If the 49ers were performing at their highest level, starting them would not be such a bad thing. As it stands, this is one week fantasy owners definitely cannot trust this unit.

 Victor Cruz

Believe it or not, the Redskins have one of the top defenses in the NFL. That is not good news for owners who drafted Victor Cruz. Cruz has underperformed thus far this season. At this point, he is no more than a flex player. Do not expect him to put up number this weekend that would change this. In fact, it would not be surprising for his stat line from this game to make fantasy owners consider benching him for good.
