Fantasy Surprise: Buffalo Bill (DEF)

Defense wins championships in Fantasy Football as much as it does in reality. If you were seeking a defense to put you over the top for a win, the Buffalo Bills were the surprise pick-up. In a shutout win against the Miami Dolphins, the Bills racked up seven sacks and two interceptions in Week 16.

The Bills were able to dominate on the defensive end from start to finish without playoff aspirations. It’s not often you witness shutouts in a league that is perceived to promote scoring and point production. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill who was sacked six times was injured and replaced by Matt Moore who threw the two interceptions.

Fantasy Disappointment: Reggie Bush (RB)

In the midst of the playoffs most Fantasy Gurus will advise to start the same players that have produced throughout the season and avoid getting caught up on match-ups.

Overall, Reggie Bush has had a productive season in Detroit, when he does play. At home against a Giants team that isn’t playing their best football and fighting for a playoff spot, Reggie Bush was non-existent in the battle. After losing his fourth fumble this season, he was benched in favor of rookie running back Theo Riddick.

Bush finished with a mere 34 rushing yards on 12 attempts with 10 receiving yards. Despite the fumbles his production had been solid as a combination running back and receiver. However, when injury or ball security issues arise as it did in Week 16, Coach Schwartz has been quick to bench him crippling his fantasy value.
