10 Team PPR Fantasy Football Mock Draft

10th overall pick in 10 team league PPR league rules: 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex, 1 D/ST, 1 K, 7 Bench players 
My idea going into the draft is that there is so much depth in WR and QB, so I was focused on running backs with my first two picks. I can wait until the later rounds to snag a very good WR and a very good QB. I will go round by round and explain the reasoning behind each pick. I will be discussing this mock draft and much more on my upcoming radio show Fanspeak Fantasy Football this Monday July 15 at 7:30 PM.

Trent Richardson
Started rehab for his lower leg injury this past week. If Trent Richardson can stay healthy this year, he can do it. He can catch the ball out of the backfield, and he can be powerful with the ball in between the tackles. I expect him to score a lot of touchdowns this upcoming year.

LaSean McCoy
In Chip Kelly’s new offense LaSean McCoy has the ability to be used in so many different ways which makes him very versatile, and very appealing for a PPR league. Last season McCoy suffered a concussion, but was averaging almost 100 yards per game from the line of scrimmage. I expect Shady McCoy to flourish in Kelly’s offense.

Larry Fitzgerald
With my 3rd round pick in this PPR league I decided to take Larry Fitzgerald. This might have been a bit of a stretch because Ftizgerald did not have a good year at all with only 798 yards and 4 touchdowns. I think with new head coach Bruce Arians and the addition of Carson Palmer, who loves to throw the ball deep, they will air the ball out all season long.

Wes Welker moving to Denver with Peyton Manning makes him a huge impact player for a PPR league. Wes Welker in round 4 for a PPR league is not a bad selection. He is not going to wow you with numbers each week, but he will be a consistent contributor.

Mike Wallace
I felt like in my position in this draft I had to plan ahead, another receiver who has the upside to be a PPR impact player is Mike Wallace. Wallace left the Pittsburgh Steelers to join Ryan Tannehill and the Miami Dolphins this offseason. Tannehill only threw 12 touchdowns this past year, but head coach Joe Philbin is not afraid to throw the ball downfield with Tannehill’s arm strength. Wallace is the fastest player on the field at all times and will have multiple long touchdown receptions.

Danny Amendola
With this pick I was very close to drafting either Reggie Bush or Eddie Lacy at the running back position. Than I realized that Wes Welker and Aaron Hernandez left the Patriots who were Tom Brady’s 1 and 3 targets last year. Someone is going to have to fill in for those receptions and if Amendola stays healthy he will have a huge impact. You may be thinking why is he taking 4 WR’s in a row? Well while everyone else in the draft is scrambling for a #2 RB and a solid QB, I am racking in a great receiving corp with a solid Flex play in either Wallace or Amendola at this point.

With my 7th round pick I decided to go with a quarterback and Andrew Luck is on the board. I had to draft him because he has so many weapons around him that were acquired by the Colts’ this offseason. I love this pick for my team and Luck has the potential to be a top 10 fantasy QB this year.

Antonio Brown
The Steelers number 1 receiver spot is open for grabs after Mike Wallace left for the Miami Dolphins. Ben Roethlisberger and offensive coordinator Todd Haley like the short passing game, and Brown is a terrific route runner with great hands. I expect Antonio Brown to get the targets from Big Ben that Wallace got last year.

Texans D/ST
The Texans have J.J. Watt and Brian Cushing attacking the quarterback, while the addition of Ed Reed in the secondary will be able to roam free in deep zone reading the quarterbacks eyes. The Texans defense and special teams are going to have a lot of plays on the ball this year, along with plenty of sacks with Watt and Cushing. I expect them to be a top 5 defense this year.

A rookie running back who will share time with Benjarvus Green-Ellis, but has the most potential out of any rookie running backs. I needed a solid #3 RB behind McCoy and Richardson who I can substitute in without having a huge drop off.

Needed a TE in this round and Eli Manning loves his tight ends in the red zone and third and short situations. If I am going to weak anywhere on my roster TE is where I would like to be weak at. Myers will not be a huge threat but he will be a consistent contributor.

Rodgers will be backing up Steven Jackson in Atlanta but Rodgers has the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. He was also used in the screen game this past year and put up some solid fantasy numbers and I believe that will transition into this season as well.
