Ravens Sign WR Marcus Rivers

Baltimore Ravens Free Agency News

In the Ravens’ first roster move in awhile, they have signed wide receiver Marcus Rivers.

Last season, Rivers spent some time with the Green Bay Packers after being undrafted out of the University of Buffalo.  However, he didn’t make the Packers final roster and wasn’t on any NFL roster during the regular season.

At 6’3″, and 220 pounds, Rivers has the size of a NFL receiver.  During Rivers’ first two years at the University of Buffalo, he only had 7 catches for 46 yards and 1 touchdown.  He received more playing time in his junior year and caught 50 passes for 690 yards and 5 touchdowns.  His senior year was very similar to his junior one as he recorded 60 catches for 615 yards and 2 touchdowns.  When the University of Buffalo held its Pro Day that year, Rivers ran a 4.60 in the 40-yard dash.

To fit Rivers on the roster, the Ravens cut quarterback Dayne Crist, an undrafted free agent out of the University of Kansas.
