New York Jets Draft Needs

The draft is just about 2 months away and with the combine going on the draft talk is really starting to heat up. I will go into the New York Jets biggest team needs to be able to compete in the AFC East on both sides of the ball.

Offense- Wide Receiver and Offensive Guard

The Jets need explosive players on offense, so adding a weapon would be huge, especially if they cut Percy Harvin. I like them going Amari Cooper at wide out. Guard was one of their weakest positions last year, so they can definitely use a new one. I think they will address it in free agency but if they don’t I like them going with Brandon Scherff from Iowa.

Defense- Corner back and Outside Linebacker

Corner back is definitely their biggest need but they have Dee Milliner and Dex McDougle. The corners I like the looking at is Trae Waynes, Marcus Peters, and Jalen Collins. The Jets need to get younger at outside linebacker. They have Calvin Pace and Jason Babin coming back, and I do not know what position the Jets will put Quintin Coples at this year. In this draft, at outside linebacker, I like Randy Gregory, Shane Ray, and Dante Fowler. Except if they go corner or outside linebacker, I would like them to trade back a few picks and add more future picks to address other positions.

Out of the 8 prospects I have named, Cooper, Scherff, Gregory, Ray, and maybe Fowler would be the only ones I would feel comfortable taking at pick 6.
